Clyde Apollo 4-2 Fordbank Star

Yesterday we welcomed Fordbank Star to Holm Park, looking to better the result from the previous meeting.

Fordbank started the better side and it wasn’t long for them to break us down as they found themselves 1-0 up in the first 10 minutes. This seemed to light a fire under us though and gave Stef & Mark the reaction they were looking for and in pretty quick succession we found themselves equaliser, followed by our 2nd & 3rd of they day to put us 3-1 up. Not long before the half ended though Fordbank got themselves one back to narrow our lead before the break.

HT 3-2

The second half begins and it’s pretty evenly matched by both side and the game was really end to end but neither side able to find the net. Fordbank were awarded a penalty as Stefan comes out to clear a cross which is determined a foul by the ref. With the chance to make it level the Fordbank front man steps up to take the pen which is SAVED BY STEFAN! A few minutes later, Fordbank get themselves another penalty as one of their wide players is brought down in the box with yet another chance to bring the game level, the Fordbank player steps up to take the pen which is SAVED AGAIN BY STEFAN!! With a few minutes left of the game is our turn to get a penalty which is put away to seal the 3 points for Apollo!

An excellent team performance with the icing on the cake being the double penalty save from Stefan All the best to Fordbank for the rest of the season, been a good couple of games this season
